SCARC, Inc. CELEBRATES TWENTY-YEAR EMPLOYEES
Augusta –Dr. Richard Lecher, CEO of SCARC, Inc. announces that its 20 Year Club has expanded with the addition of two new members. Marcia Benson of Sparta, employed as one of SCARC’s Kids on the Block Puppeteers and Lisa Rapp of Newton, Family Support worker and program substitute have reached their 20 year milestone.
The additional two members bring to a total of nine those employees who have been employed by SCARC for at least twenty years. Our two new members and the former 7 members of the club were honored at a staff appreciation day on September 28 th at the SCARC administrative headquarters in Augusta. All nine members posed for a picture. Those in the picture are (l to r) Lisa Rapp; Cathy Bentler, director of community services; Greta Kemether, program specialist at Fredon employment center; Marcia Benson; Gail Sisco, residential assistant at Newton group home; Carol Sliker, Family Support worker and residential staff; Christine Thoenig, manager of Beemerhill group home; Agnes Gubernard, program assistant at Harvest Home Clothing 2 program; and Richard Lecher, Ph.D., CEO.
Andy Sharick, president of the SCARC board of trustees states, “I am real proud of such a large group of employees who have been with our organization for more than twenty years. Their dedication and commitment to SCARC’s mission is very enjoyable to see.” Mary Jo Smith, chief human resources officer adds, “I am really excited to work with such a fine group of experienced and long tenured employees.”
In addition to the twenty year club members, SCARC employs an additional 12 employees who have been employed between 15 years and 20 years. Also SCARC employs an additional 32 employees who have been with us for 10 – 15 years. In total, SCARC employs about 300 persons.
