Voucher Support is yet another of the array of Family Support services offered by SCARC.   SCARC’s cash subsidy and tri-county-respite voucher program is a unique program which provides cash financial assistance to families who select and pay a caregiver of their choice for their child with developmental disabilities.

This year, SCARC served more than 163 families in its Voucher programs.  These Voucher programs enable families to purchase equipment and supplies that are necessary for the habilitation and training of their child with disabilities.  Families are also able to use the money to purchase camping and recreational services for their child.  Families may also use the Voucher money to privately hire family support workers of their choice to provide child-sitting, companionship, and in-home supports without having to utilize SCARC employees.

These Voucher programs enable families to make flexible decisions about the care of their child or family member.  Consequently, these programs are very popular with families served by our organization.
